Tim Loughton MP, Graham Taylor OBE & The Mayor of Harrow opening the Centre on the 28th May 2012

The Centre is enviromentally friendly

Cedars Youth and Community Centre is managed by Watford FC’s Community Sports & Education Trust (the Trust). In 2008 the Trust and Harrow Council jointly applied to the Department for Education’s MyPlace Fund and successfully secured £4.2 million to regenerate the old Cedars Youth Centre into a world class youth and community facility. The creation of Cedars Youth and Community Centre is testament to the hard work undertaken by young people, local residents and staff from both the Trust and Harrow Council to realise a joint vision of providing a safe, secure and positive environment for all members of the community. The centre was opened in May 2012 by Graham Taylor OBE, Tim Loughton MP and the Mayor of Harrow Cllr Nazim Ismail.

The centre has state of the art facilities including an outdoor 4G Astroturf pitch, an indoor sports hall, a social space, a community gym and much more. To add to the facilities the Trust delivers a wide range of programmes which cater for all members of the community – read more about these programmes in the what’s on guide. The centre is extremely environmentally friendly with a solar wall, green roofs and rainwater harvesting, in addition to these features the centre operates a green travel plan. As a charity our mission is to, ‘Make a positive difference for all through sport and learning’, this is achieved through the delivery of a diverse range of projects across six key themes; Sports Participation, Education, Health, Social Inclusion, Environment and Community Facilities. The Trust is a self financing charity and is reliant on grants, donations and funding to deliver all our programmes.

We are members of London Youth, UK Youth & Ambition.
